The Grand Canyon

So I realized that some of you may be wondering what happened to Salt Lake City. Well, we were driving down the 101 from Eureka on our way to the 5 freeway, and we saw that we were only 100 miles from San Francisco (an absolutely amazing city and the current leader of my "places I want to live one day list". So we decided to go and totally re-routed our trip, driving down the PCH to Monterrey, hitting Vegas (where I won $50 at the Paris casino), and then stopping to watch the sunset over the Grand Canyon. We plan to drive all night to get to Colorado Springs, although if we are tired we may get a motel.
The Grand Canyon was spectacular. On one hand I wish we would have had more than a few hours, but by the time we got there the temperature was a comfy 80. I didn't really get any "wow" pictures, although not for lack of trying. I hiked down a trail about 150 feet and took a zillion shots, but the light was tricky. It was something to see though. A very contemplative place.
